A non-denominational church can be considered as a church that has no form of official membership following. This type of church does not have a defined hierarchy, creed, or holy texts. There are many non-denominational churches in the world today. These are church's that practices beliefs which are commonly found in other Christian denominations without necessarily claiming to follow the exact practices of these churches. However, there are some non-denominational churches that do incorporate practices of other Christian denominations. Some non-denominational churches such as this church in DC however do separate themselves by having their own set of beliefs and doctrine. Some of these are Methodism, Holiness, or other Christian denominations that don't officially accept or deny the existence of God. Some of these are the Orthodox Church and the Baptist Church. One of the most important things to note about non-denominational churches is that they do not enforce particular beliefs on their members. The Reformed Church for instance does not have a ban on owning guns and other weapons. They believe that the bible teaches us to be peaceful and to live by the command of God. In other words, they believe that the bible teaches us to live as gods for ourselves. The beliefs that the church in Washington DC follows should be seen as a means for people to get closer God. This is evident by the peace that many Christians have found after attending a Reformed church. Many have been so transformed by what they have experienced inside that they are no longer the same person that they were before they entered into a Christian church. Some have even become homeless because of the good that they have experienced in a church. Non-denominational churches are able to effect the lives of those who are not interested in following the Christian path because they have the ability to reach across to such people.
